I managed to pick up a Pentax Auto 110 film camera in June. The lens is a 28mm f2.8 and I must admit I'm impressed. The ease of focusing and quality of the images is great. After a fruitless search for 110 cartridges on the high street I managed to pick up a load of expired Tudor 200asa on eBay. I decided to make use of one of the camera's flaws and multiple expose the film - if you don't press on the back of the camera you can cock the shutter but not advance the film. I think this would make an interesting project and you can see a sample image from the first film here.

I Love West Leeds 2010
Well the Lamppost Gallery is up and running. The five town streets represented are Farsley, Bramley, Pudsey, Rodley and Armley. I'm planning on going to have a look over the weekend.

Its been a while!
Clearly i've been neglecting this blog for some time ... you know what its like, start off as you mean to go on and then don't post anything for over six months. I'm still taking pictures and buying cameras, just not spending so much time on Flickr. I'm hoping to start using this blog and Flickr to showcase what i've been up to.
I've recently been involved in the I Love West Leeds (ILWL) 2010 festival and covered Farsley as part of the Lamppost Gallery. Here are links to my Farsley set (i'll publish the final edit once the project is up on display), the ILWL 2010 site and the official website for the Lamppost Gallery project designed by Griff le Riff - check out his Flickr account at http://www.flickr.com/photos/60589653@N00/

Photocamp Bradford 2009
I was one of the 150+ people who attended Photocamp Bradford 2009 at the National Media Museum over the weekend of the 5th & 6th September. This is the third such event and its going from strength to strength. The event included a keynote speech by Miss Aniela ( http://missaniela.com/) and sessions on 365 projects, tours of the museum's archives, strobism, model / portrait photography, pinhole photography; for the full list of seminars visit the Photocamp Bradford 2009 flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/groups/pcb-09/discuss/72157622196315230/ . The highlight for me was the curator led talk of the Don McCullin exhibition In England. Great set of b&w images and a change from the McCullin photographs most people know. Check out the museums web page detailing the exhibition at http://www.nationalmediamuseum.org.uk/donmccullin/events.asp - it includes a podcast and four video clips with transcripts. The exhibition is on until 27th September 2009 so if you are in the area pop in.

flickr link

Hi, my name is Jon aka blackeyeddog. I thought it was about time to drag myself kicking and screaming in to the 21st century and have decided to start with a link to my flickr home page.
